Jen & Garrett

I've fallen into a bad habit of not updating my blog with the latest photos since posting on Facebook is one click away... You don't hear about how amazing awesome the couple I photograph are, nor their love story. Well, today that changes, I want to share with you the relationships I've been a pleasure of documenting and new friendships I've made!

I photographed this amazing couple at Swan-e-set in Pitt Meadows not far from their new home in Langley, a few months back. Jen and Garrett's wedding was definately memorable! From the grandious stair cases to the deck out ballroom this wedding was one straight out of the movies especially since the couple looked like movie stars. Jen and Garrett met over a couple of drinks and the rest was history. The weather was truly a miracle, it went from pouring rain to golden sunshine just in time for their out-door ceremony and photos leaving behind some clouds of contrast far off into the distance.

Lazy Blogger and Photos! | Engagement and Wedding Photography Abbotsford, BC - Whiterock, BC

Alright I am most definitely the laziest blogger! I don't feel like I have enough epic stories to type up - but so much has been going on this summer - I've got a couple great tellings to share! This past year has been such a whirl wind of changes and photography. I want to invite you all to come on this journey with me, I'm attempting to give a little bit more of myself on my blog postings and fill you all in on more things about myself, my photography and whatever else pop's into my head. I feel like I've been flying by the past few months since April, and all of a sudden today I opened my iCal to read "Hey Ashley, It's July!!!". I've been a naughty girl and super behind in posting posting onto my blog. I've got great engagement photos I'm going to post today, from Graciela and Rambert. I met Graciela via online contact, and I am incredibly excited for this Paraguay born couple's wedding July 10, in Abbotsford. I had the pleasure of photographing their Engagement in Whiterock, BC - at the pier. Immediately, after the initial getting over the awkwardness of ultra PDA in public. - Yesterday I photographed their wedding in Abbotsford BC.

(above) - This was their web gallery card - I love the bold green in the grass, and they both look fab!

Baby Carson. | Baby, Newborn Photography, Vancouver / Langley, B.C.

I had the pleasure of photography baby Carson yesterday, and couldn't resist to post a couple preview photos onto the blog! He was two weeks old, and irresistably adorable. Courtney contacted me back in April when she was still pregnant, and chose me to photograph newborn photos of Carson. Along with meeting Carson and Courntey, I met Courtney's husband Mike who was there for the session too. It was incredible photographing your family. Thanks guys! Meanwhile, enjoy the preview below.

Dominican Republic Destination Wedding - Mahla and Chris' Wedding | Wedding Photography, Langley, B.C

Back in May, I had the pleasure of travelling down to Punta Canada, Dominican Republic to photograph Mahla and Chris' Destination Wedding at the Melia Caribre, Dominican Republic. Not only were the beaches, and ocean beautiful - Chris and Mahla were a gorgeous couple, it was obvious that they were so excited to be getting married after 8 years of dating. At the begining of the day it was pouring rain, and we were a little nervous about how an outdoor wedding in Dominican would go, if it needed to get moved indoor. What were the odds, pouring rain in Punta Canna, we came all the way from the rainy west coast to escape the rain! Well, after a lot of rain dances and prayers it let up in time to for the ceremony, and their photos!

Here's a preview of some of the photos from their wedding.

Cheers,

Ashley

New Photo time! | Baby, Newborn Photography, Langley, B.C

I had the most amazing chance to meet Ella - Louisa and Grant's little baby girl. Unfortunately, I caught Ella on a bad day, but never the less cute as a button! She was still so tiny and precious. After a few feeding breaks, and a little nap - Ella was ready to shine, and show off her beautifully big blue eyes!

I'm so very excited there's going to be the first baby in the family to my brother Marco and his beautiful wife, my sister-in-law; Kristi. I couldn't imagine a more perfect set of parents - and I can't wait to photograph the little bean!

Anyway here's some new baby eye candy!

Savy Bridal Beauty Tips!

I was doing my routinely browse at the cosmetic's counter at London Drugs, and this package was worth a good laugh. I usually don't push products but I was so impressed. But I never imagined that it would actually do what it said. This lip plumber actually works. Obviously your lips aren't going to grow over night, but it helps adds shape and shine. The ingredients cause a little bit of a tingly feeling to wear, but really looks great. I picked it up for $9.99 CAD, at the London Drugs and I highly recommend it to any Bride, or any girl looking for a quick glam look for their lips. Wear this for your engagement photos, portraits or wedding, its light gloss is easy and affordable.

Invitations for all occasions!

Here's some new invitations that I've been working on for various clients. Invitations can be such a immense amount of work, so why not let Dragonflight help. These invitations can have a modern flare, with keeping your budget in mind. Having an trendy wedding doesn't need to cost you an arm & a leg, and Dragonflight understand's the word "budget". Spending evenings printing your own invitations from that inkjet printer may actually end up costing you more than you anticipated in ink and waste countless amounts of time that you could be working on other wedding projects. Contact us today for your invitation options.

Fall has come and gone and onward to frosted mornings, and soon Christmas' celebrations we head onto. It seems all the department stores have officially started the Christmas push, christmas tree's and such. The local starbucks was all decked out this weekend. I don't mind I love the decorations, it gets me excited for all the hot chocolates, and christmas movie watching at home on the couch time!

Aside from my random ramblings, I wanted to post some new headshots. Emily the beautiful. Check them out below!

Really Digging this Song

Just thought I'd share, something I'm really loving right now. It's a song by Canadian Band - Metric - Give me Sympathy. Just kinda a mello song especially the acoustic version. Usually I don't share music, but for today I'll make an exception. Maybe I should start a music selection, for future brides?

cheers,

ashley

Not just a photo.

Sometimes I really think photographers don't appreciate their "job" properly. You know, I really hate calling it that, it's not a job it's definately a lifestyle or a passion. I get to spent the most memorable day in anyone's lives, with them. From start to finish, I see their tears, their anxieties, their nervousness as they approach the chapel waiting to see their soul-mate dressed for the first day of the rest of their lives together. I get to feel their emotion, when they cry at the alter, because I'm documenting every moment, every touch, every little detail that all the others in the audience will miss. I see them talking and flirting like it's all completely brand new as the priest talks to the rest of the guests, small touches during the ceremony, and smiles. I see the small tears of happiness from under the Brides veil as she looks into the eyes of her husband. The best though, is simply seeing the Groom, when the Bride makes her first appearence. What feels like the longest aisle walk to the alter, the Groom's face always says it all. You can see the love and excitement he shares for the gorgeous white beauty slowly making her way towards him as if it takes an eternity for her to get to him. In that moment, my heart gets this butterfly warm feeling, that I get to take part in watching the most blissful moments of the begining of this love story.

I always feel like I'm taking part in a love-story each couple, very different from the last, their stories so different, but one ceremony and day bringing them all together, with the same words "I Do". The getting ready in the morning is always my favourite, pure raw emotion. You can tell so much about people when they're getting married. I always loved when the Groom's would send tokens of their love to their Brides, a card expressing their undying love, or roses so they know the passion they feel for eachother. Ah, so romantic. Weddings are truly the best part in the love-stories of every couple, that is why I feel truly blessed to be able to take part in those moments. I feel like I get to read by photograph, the love story of each couple. So to the couples I have photographed, Thank you so much and to future couples, I feel honnored you would like to share your love story with me.
