Victoria, BC Family Photos and The King's Children's Home

When Lara and Alex contacted me asking if I was available this summer to do their family photography this year, I was thrilled. I've photographed their family almost every year since they were married. And I went to high school with Lara back in Victoria. When I first got my camera the first baby session I ever photographed was Lara's first girl - Brooklyn. I have a special place in my heart for Brooklyn and her family because of this. Ever since I've been lucky enough to photograph their family.

This time around I wanted to do something different - it had been 2 months since I've had a chance to do any 'giving back' the last session I did for a good cause was for Harmony House in White Rock a maternity/family session with Lisa and her family. And it felt right seeing if Lara and Alex would be up for giving back. Lara came up with a brilliant idea to donate to The King's Children's Home. I left the donation amount up to Alex & Lara and they came with $300 for a donation.

"The King's Children Home (KCH) is a private, non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping and providing residential care for children in difficult circumstances regardless of their social status, culture, race or religious belief" - http://www.kingschildrenshome.org/index-1.html

This seemed like the perfect place to donate to as they are in Belize, a Seventh Day Adventist Church started non-profit organization and what they do for children is incredibly important. Every child deserves to feel safe, protected and provided for.

Here are the photos from Lara & Alex's family photo session. Thank you so much for being such an amazing family. The world is a much better place because of families like this one.
