Lainey & Tyson Engagement Photos - Summer Romance

I met Lainey through friends at dinner on Halloween 2 years ago accompanied by a 'paper bag princess' and 'gypsy princess' while rocking her feather boa, and flapper attire. Who would have guessed that that chance encounter would later lead to friendship and photographing her and her hubby to be, Tyson.

When Lainey asked if I was available and would be her wedding photographer - I'm not going to lie, I panicked! With only months away from her wedding day and knowing most of my popular wedding dates were booked, I didn't want to miss their wedding. Lucky for me, by chance one of the weekends I had off was their date!!!! I was floored! I wanted to absolutely be apart of their big day as their wedding photographer! For those of you who don't know - Lainey is Erin's sister - I photographed Erin & Lawrence's big day last year.

I gave Lainey the typical questionnaire that I give all my couples making sure we were the right fit.... okay, I gave her the questionnaire because I thought it would be fun to see what she would write back with and I knew it was going to be good when she opened her response to 'How Did You Meet?' with 'Once upon a time, in September of 2005 Lainey and Tyson saw each other in a parking lot and made eye contact for a brief moment. Seven years later Tyson and Lainey met at the insistence of our mutual friends. We were both initially opposed to the idea but gave in because our friends were relentless that we were "perfect for each other"...." After meeting Tyson at our friend's wedding earlier this year and photographing their engagement session the evidence is undeniable these two are absolutely perfect for one another.

'A Summer Romance' is the perfect theme for their engagement photo session. It was a 'Summer Day' engagement session. The images tell the story. But a little behind the sciences facts is that Tyson grew up going to Cultus Lake as a kid, and shared lots of memories on the dock. It was the perfect fit to start a new memory with his future wife.

Passion is an energy that I feel is so important to have in life and love. I feel that passion can come naturally but it also takes work. Much like Love is the kindling to Passion, you still need to keep the fire going and it takes work much like a marriage. Lainey and Tyson are yet another couple that I've met that truly have passion. I know I've posted it before in the past but I absolutely love this quote from Captain Correlli's Mandolin - it is my favourite quote about love-

"When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No... don't blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away. Doesn't sound very exciting, does it? But it is!"

This quote for me sums up what true, real passion is. Oh and hey if you don't mind Nicholas Cage's terrible accent, it ain't a bad movie to watch ;)
