Rainy Vancouver Engagement - Kathryn and Richard

Ready with the the Dom Perignon hiding in the fridge at a friend's bbq, Richard was getting ready to propose to the love of his life - Kathryn. Richard and Kathryn found a long distance love with Richard living in Seattle and Kathryn up here in BC. In front of their friends at the BBQ, Richard got down on one knee and proposed.

Kathryn was excited for their rainy Vancouver engagement session and was excited at the idea of photographing both indoors and outdoors. We walked around downtown Vancouver and enjoyed the day (and the rain). Richard ordered special umbrellas with their wedding colours just for their engagement session.

I always encourage couples to bring two outfits to their session. One that is formal and the other more casual. It's a great chance to dress up and make a day of it - perhaps planning for a dinner date afterwards. Kathryn had her hair and make up trails earlier that morning. I love it when women wear dresses and Kathryn's dress was absolutely stunning and her heels rocked! Don't be afraid of colour when your choosing your outfit for your engagement session and you can never go wrong with a classic look.

Their laughter was incredibly infectious and they were amazing in front of the camera. I never would have guessed it was their first time in front of it. Richard and Kathryn had a way to make a hard raining Vancouver day into a romantic comedy styled movie of playing in the rain. You both are amazing! I'm so excited for your 2013 wedding!
